Not sure where to start? We’re here to help you decide.
Our free 15-minute consultation is a simple, no-pressure call for individuals in Markham, Toronto, and across Ontario who are considering therapy. You can share what brings you to therapy, ask questions about our approach, and learn what to expect.
This consultation helps you get to know your therapist and explore what type of support may be the best fit for you, whether you’re seeking in-person therapy in Markham or virtual therapy anywhere in Ontario. This is not a therapy session and there is no commitment—just a chance to connect, ask questions, and gain clarity about next steps.
Individual Therapy (Adults)
Individual therapy offers one-on-one support for adults navigating emotional, mental, and life challenges. Many people come to therapy not because something is “wrong,” but because life feels heavier, more confusing, or harder to manage than before.
We support adults in Markham, Toronto, and across Ontario with concerns such as stress, anxiety, low mood, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Therapy provides a private space to talk openly, reflect on patterns, and build coping skills that fit your life.
Sessions are collaborative, compassionate, and paced with care. Our goal is to help you feel calmer, more grounded, and supported as you move forward.
EMDR Therapy (Specialized Trauma Therapy)
EMDR therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps people process distressing or overwhelming experiences that continue to affect their daily life. These experiences do not need to be extreme to have an impact.
We offer EMDR therapy in Markham, Toronto, and across Ontario, both in person and virtually. EMDR works by helping the brain process experiences in a way that feels safer and less overwhelming, so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.
Sessions are carefully paced and grounded in safety. You do not need to relive traumatic events in detail, and preparation is always part of the process.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy supports partners who want to improve communication, work through challenges, or strengthen their connection. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from couples counselling.
We work with couples in Markham, Toronto, and across Ontario who may be navigating conflict, emotional distance, trust concerns, parenting stress, or life transitions. Therapy focuses on helping both partners feel heard, respected, and understood.
Sessions provide a supportive space to explore patterns, deepen understanding, and develop healthier ways of relating.
Children & Youth
Child and youth therapy offers supportive counselling for teens and young people navigating emotional, social, and developmental challenges. Adolescence can be overwhelming, and therapy provides a space where youth can feel heard and supported.
We support youth and families in Markham, Toronto, and across Ontario with concerns such as anxiety, emotional regulation, school stress, mood changes, self-esteem, and family or life transitions.
Sessions are age-appropriate, gentle, and paced to the youth’s comfort level. Caregiver involvement may be included when helpful and appropriate.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Support (ADHD & Autism)
This service offers neurodiversity-affirming support for adults and teens who identify as neurodivergent, including ADHD and autistic individuals. At Théla Psychotherapy Clinic, we honour each person’s unique brain and lived experience. You do not need a diagnosis to receive care.
We help with focus and attention challenges, emotional regulation, sensory overload, masking and burnout, routine building and executive functioning, relationship and communication concerns, and feeling misunderstood or “different.” Support is available in Markham, Toronto, or virtually across Ontario.
Sessions are validating, collaborative, and tailored to how your brain works. This is a supportive space to unmask, learn tools, and reconnect with your strengths.
Specialty Add-On
Animal-assisted psychotherapy is an optional in-person service where a trained therapy dog may be present to support grounding, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety during sessions.
This service is available in Markham when clinically appropriate and always with client consent. The dog’s presence is optional, and therapy remains focused on your goals and needs.
Animal-assisted therapy may be supportive for clients experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma responses, emotional regulation challenges, or difficulty settling in traditional therapy settings.
Affordable Therapy Program
The Affordable Therapy Program at Théla Psychotherapy Clinic offers reduced-fee counselling with graduate-level Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) student therapists completing their clinical practicum.
This program is designed to increase access to mental health support while maintaining clear ethical standards, transparency, and client safety. Sessions are offered within a defined training scope appropriate for graduate-level practicum placements.
Student therapists receive external clinical supervision arranged through their academic institution. Théla Psychotherapy Clinic serves as the training site and custodian of clinical records. Supervisor information is available upon request.
This program is best suited for individuals seeking short- to medium-term support and may not be appropriate for crisis-level or highly specialized needs. If this program isn’t the right fit, we’re happy to help you explore other options.
